Biography

Michael has advised clients for over 12 years across a broad range of complex legal matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporations law, employment law, commercial property and commercial litigation.

Michael has acted for Australia's largest online retailing group (corporate acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial property and commercial litigation), Australia’s largest bus manufacturer (corporate acquisitions, commercial property), a substantial Australian property development corporation (acquisition of land, corporate restructure, residential strata development), a US manufacturing corporation (contract advisory), a national mortgage broker (mergers and acquisitions), a national freight transport company (employment & industrial relations advisory), an international recruitment company (national leasing matters), an international steel reinforcement manufacturer (commercial litigation), commercial leasing agents, insolvency practitioners, executives of listed companies, small to medium businesses and entrepreneurs.

Some of Michael’s recent notable matters include:

  • Acting for Australia’s largest online retailer on a cornerstone investment by a listed investment fund manager, corporate and business acquisitions, employee share scheme, website privacy policies and terms of trade;
  • Acting on a merger between two substantial national mortgage broking corporations and providing contract advisory services;
  • Acting for Australia’s largest bus manufacturer on the acquisition of substantial industrial premises in NSW and acting in relation the client’s interstate leasing interests;
  • Advising a national freight transport corporation in relation to the Fair Work Ombudsman;
  • Acting for a national property developer on complex acquisition of remediated land and staged residential strata development (734 apartments) including advising on a joint venture with an international fund manager, corporate restructuring and complex stamp duty advice;
  • Advising a multinational manufacturer on complex contractual issues with respect to work undertaken for the NSW Government and employment law; and
  • Acting for an international recruitment corporation in relation to national leasing matters.
